Fellow Tucson artist Hannah Yeun wrote a timeless classic with "Do It Now." "If you're gonna hurt me, baby, do it now" - a bit of ripping the bandaid off, a bit of perverse desire - it's a strange and compelling brew.

This song has always had a whiff of Twin Peaks about it. So when I decided it was time to try out a different style and release this cover, I knew I wanted to bring the other half of the Twin Peaks/Angelo Badalamenti sonic world to my version - lots of moody, icy synths.

It was a pleasure to infuse the world Hannah created on her original with my inner world - I tried it on, and it fit like a glove. Then, as the final icing on the cake, Hannah and I linked up at the studio to track some subtle backing vocals on my cover of her song - so special.

At the last minute, I was playing with the tape machine and slowed the pitch/tempo waaaayyyy down. And it blew my mind. So that became the official version, and is featured in this music video.
